Give Get Sistet group photo 6/7 members

The Give Get Sistet is an expandable, improvisational chorus of Black women and non-binary artists based in the Twin Cities with ties around the world.

Using a cappella singing and vocal improvisation, the Give Get Sistet entertains, educates and empowers audiences and communities from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures. These artists listen deeply and sing with great generosity and daring, the music they make is unlike any other ensemble you’ve heard.

Invite the Give Get Sistet to sing at your next event!

Serenading the Wounded Spaces

In the fall of 2021, the Give Get Sistet was awarded a grant to create a Community Healing project through the city’s Creative Response Fund. With this support, we are serenading places in Minneapolis in an effort to find healing for ourselves and our city. Learn more.

Funding provided by the Creative Response Fund, a program of the office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy (ACCE) in the City of Minneapolis and also in part by the Kresge Foundation.

In Support of Beverly Cottman
& the Cottman Family

in support of beverly cottman and the cottman family

Beverly Cottman (mother of Sistet member Kenna), passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 11, 2023 in Cairo, Egypt on a trip with some of her oldest friends.

On behalf of the Cottman Family, we are seeking cash and check offerings in the amount of $6K to bring Auntie Beverly home & begin the rituals surrounding her transition to the ancestral plane. Donations can be made directly to the family using these links:

Additional, non-monetary support is also welcome. Necessary support requests can be found here:  Loving Up the Cottman Family.

To coordinate a cash, check or gift card donation, please call, text, or email TruArtSpeaks at (651) 237-2044 or in**@tr**********.org, respectively, to coordinate your offering.

To support the family via additional methods, please see Loving Up the Cottman Family and contact Alicia Steele at 507-384-5566. Endless gratitude to you all, Asé

Thank you for your kinship and generosity.

UPDATE: the $6000 has been raised. Additional funds will go toward additional support for Kenna and their family.
